Climbing helmets
Climbing helmets help protect against falling rock and ice and against impacts in a fall. Hard-shell helmets are durable and cope with knocks in a pack, while foam and hybrid designs are lighter and better ventilated. Check the fit and adjustment, including with a hat underneath for winter, look for headlamp clips, and confirm the helmet is certified for climbing and mountaineering rather than another sport.
