Privacy notice
Last updated October 7, 2026
This notice explains what personal data outdoordirectory.eu processes. In short: no cookies, no analytics, no tracking, and nothing loaded from other companies' servers. That is why this site has no cookie banner.
Who is responsible
The controller is Akaterra AB, Sättrabacken 31, 763 91 Hallstavik, Sweden, organisation number 559195-5769. Contact: info@akaterra.com.
When you visit the site
The site is delivered by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., with Cloudflare Ireland Ltd. for the EU), which hosts it for us as a processor. To deliver a page, Cloudflare necessarily receives your IP address and the technical details your browser sends (for example the page requested and the browser type), and it keeps short-lived logs for security and to keep the service running. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in delivering a working, secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare, Inc. is self-certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so transfers to the US rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). We don't receive or keep these logs ourselves.
We don't run analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Fonts and icons are served from our own domain. The site stores nothing on your device: no cookies, no local storage.
Choosing a shop for your country
To choose a shop in your market, the site uses the country Cloudflare derives from your IP address. This happens in two places: when a brand page labels its buy button, and when you click a buy link. The country is used for that one answer and nothing else. We don't store it, log it or link it to you. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in sending you to a shop that delivers to you.
When you follow a buy link
A buy link takes you to another company's website: a brand, a shop or an affiliate network acting for a shop. From then on, that company's privacy policy applies, including any cookies it sets to credit a purchase to us. Networks and shops report sales and commissions to us without identifying you.
Some buy links go through Awin (AWIN AG, Berlin), an affiliate network. Before such a link, a page on our site asks whether Awin may set a cookie in your browser to credit a purchase to us. Only if you agree does the link go through Awin, which then processes data about the click, such as your IP address and browser, under its own privacy policy. If you decline, the link goes straight to the shop and nothing is sent to Awin. Your answer applies to that click only, and we store nothing. Legal basis for Awin's cookie: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by deleting the cookie in your browser.
When you write to us
If you email us, we use your address and message to reply, and delete them when the matter is closed, unless the law requires us to keep them. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR, depending on what you write about. Email to us is handled by Google (Google Workspace), which processes it on our behalf; Google LLC is self-certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Information about brands
Brand profiles describe companies. Where public sources do (the company's own website, the press, encyclopaedias), a profile may name a company's founders, owners or managers, to explain where the company comes from. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in describing the companies we list (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If you are named and object, write to us: we will review the text and correct or remove it.
Your right to object
Where we rely on legitimate interest, you can object at any time to the processing of your personal data on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). Write to info@akaterra.com.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability, within the limits of the GDPR. Write to info@akaterra.com. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, imy.se) or to the supervisory authority where you live.
