Probes & shovels

An avalanche probe and shovel complete the rescue kit alongside a transceiver, which locates a buried person but cannot dig them out. Choose a probe long enough for the snowpack where you tour, with a quick and reliable locking system. A shovel with a metal blade copes with hard avalanche debris, and an extendable shaft and a sturdy, comfortable grip help when moving large amounts of snow.
