Pieps is an Austrian maker of avalanche safety equipment based in Lebring. The brand dates back to 1968, when the PIEPS, one of the first electronic avalanche transceivers, came out of research at the Technische Hochschule Graz. The company Pieps GmbH was founded in 2006 and is wholly owned by Denali Holding GmbH.
Its range covers avalanche transceivers, avalanche probes and shovels, Jetforce avalanche airbag backpacks, and accessories such as bivy bags and first-aid kits. Its third generation of transceivers, built on fully digital signal processing, began with the Pro IPS model in 2023.
