Ortovox is a German mountain sports brand founded by Gerald Kampel in 1980; together with Jürgen Wegner he developed the F2 avalanche transceiver. It is based in Taufkirchen near Munich and has belonged to Schwan-Stabilo since 2011, as part of the group's outdoor division alongside Deuter.
Its range covers avalanche transceivers, probes, shovels and airbag backpacks, ski touring and mountaineering backpacks, and mountain clothing: hardshell, insulated and fleece jackets, softshell and hardshell trousers, base layers and socks, including garments made with merino or Swiss wool.
