Touring skis
Touring skis are made for climbing on skins as well as skiing down, so they are usually lighter than downhill skis of similar size. Consider the width underfoot: narrower skis are lighter for long ascents and firm snow, wider skis float better in powder. Length, rocker profile and weight trade efficiency on the climb against stability on the descent. Choose skis, bindings, boots and skins as one setup.
