Climbing skins
Climbing skins stick to the base of touring skis and grip the snow on the way up. They come pre-cut for specific skis or as rolls you trim to shape, with matching tip and tail fixings. Mohair glides better, nylon grips better and lasts longer, and mixes sit in between. Glue skins stick less well when cold or dirty, while glue-free adhesives are easier to pull apart and keep clean.
