Touring bindings
Touring bindings free the heel for climbing and lock it for the descent. Pin bindings are light and need boots with pin inserts, while frame bindings accept many alpine boots but are heavier on the climb, and hybrid designs sit in between. Check boot compatibility first, then consider adjustable release values, heel risers for steep skin tracks, brakes or leashes, and mounts for ski crampons.
