Running poles
Running poles help on long climbs in mountain races and steep terrain. Most fold into sections so they can be stowed on a running vest, and some also adjust in length. Consider the weight, how quickly they fold and lock, and how you will carry them when not in use. Check the race rules first, as some events ban or restrict poles, and practise with them before racing.
