Silva is a Swedish brand whose history began in 1933, when the brothers Björn, Alvar and Arvid Kjellström and Gunnar Tillander developed a liquid-filled compass. The company is based in Stockholm and has been owned by the investment firm Verdane since 2021. After acquiring the stove brand Primus in 2023, it runs both brands as Primus-Silva Sweden AB.
Silva makes compasses for orienteering and outdoor navigation, headlamps for running and outdoor use, camping lanterns, running vests and hydration belts, and trekking and running poles. Its compasses are manufactured at a HANZA Group facility in China.
