Skylotec is a German manufacturer of personal protective equipment against falls from height, based in Neuwied, Rhineland-Palatinate. Eduard Kaufmann founded the company in 1948 to make safety belts and rescue stretchers for mining; Wolfgang Rinklake bought it in 1982, and it has used the Skylotec name since 2005.
Mountain sports equipment has been part of its business since 2008, and in 2021 it took over the Italian carabiner maker Climbing Technology. Retailers list Skylotec harnesses, carabiners and quickdraws, belay devices, crampons, ice axes and via ferrata sets. Production sites are in Neuwied and in Gyomaendröd, Hungary.
