Pinguin

Pinguin is a Czech outdoor equipment brand founded by Zdeněk Král. Its first products, from around 1986, were down jackets and sleeping bags sewn by hand in a student flat in Brno; the company was officially established in 1989. Since 2006 it has been based in Náchod in eastern Bohemia, where its development team, service workshop and warehouses are located. The brand is owned by the Czech company Activent 365 s.r.o., led by the original founders.

Its range covers tents, sleeping bags and mats, hiking backpacks, trekking poles, camp stoves, cookware and furniture, plus waterproof, down and fleece jackets. Pinguin products are made mainly by specialised suppliers in Asia, whose factories are checked through independent BSCI audits.
