Valandre

Valandré is a French maker of down sleeping bags and clothing. Textile engineer André Vandeputte set up the company in 1983, after developing high-altitude insulation with mountaineer Maurice Barrard, in a workshop rented from the municipality of Belcaire in the Aude Pyrenees. The company, Valandré International, is based in Belcaire.

Its range covers down sleeping bags for expeditions, mountaineering and lighter use, such as the Thor, Odin, Shocking Blue, Bloody Mary and Swing models, plus down jackets, parkas and vests. In 2005 Valandré began moving its manufacturing to its own production unit in Tunisia.
