Patagonia is an American outdoor clothing and gear company founded by climber Yvon Chouinard in 1973 and headquartered in Ventura, California. Since 2022 its voting stock has been held by the Patagonia Purpose Trust and its non-voting stock by the Holdfast Collective, a non-profit focused on the environmental crisis.
Its range covers waterproof shell jackets, insulated jackets such as the Nano Puff, fleece midlayers, Capilene base layers and hiking trousers, along with hiking and alpine packs such as the Terravia and Ascensionist, trail running jackets and mountain bike clothing. Patagonia became a certified B Corporation in 2012.
