Basil

Basil is a Dutch family business making bicycle accessories. It traces its start to 1976, when bicycle dealer Nico van Balveren had a wicker basket made for a customer and began trading as N. van Balveren Riet Import-Export, later renamed Basil. The company is based in Ulft in the Netherlands and is owned by his son, Marthijn van Balveren.

Its range includes single and double pannier bags, trunk, frame and handlebar bags, bicycle baskets and crates, and cycling rainwear such as rain jackets, trousers and rain suits. Some of its bags, baskets and crates use the MIK system, which attaches accessories to carriers with integrated MIK profiles or an MIK carrier plate.
