AKU is an Italian outdoor footwear company based in Montebelluna, in the province of Treviso. Its founder, Galliano Bordin, grew up in Montebelluna's shoemaking tradition, learning first to repair and then to make shoes; he created the Dinsport brand before introducing AKU in the 1990s.
AKU makes hiking boots and shoes, backpacking and trekking boots, mountaineering boots and approach shoes, alongside hunting boots and professional footwear for work, rescue and military use. The company operates its own production units in Italy and Romania.
