Sweden · Founded 1969
Woolpower is a Swedish maker of merino wool clothing based in Östersund. Its history goes back to 1969, when the Swedish cooperative union Kooperativa förbundet set up a factory in the town to make nylon stockings under the Vinetta brand. The company was later renamed Ullfrotté AB and adopted the Woolpower name in 2006. Brothers Adam and Daniel Brånby became its owners in 2010; it is part of the family company Ekstigen AB.
Its range covers wool base layers, midlayers such as full-zip jackets and vests, and socks and sock liners, along with accessories and children's clothing. According to the company, all of its products are made in Sweden, under one roof at its factory in Östersund.
