Victorinox
Switzerland · Founded 1884
Victorinox traces its origins to 1884, when Karl Elsener opened a cutler's workshop in Ibach in the Swiss canton of Schwyz, where the company is based. The name combines Victoria, after his mother, with inox, for stainless steel. The company is owned by two foundations and acquired Wenger, the other supplier of the Swiss Army knife, in 2005.
For camping and hiking, Victorinox makes Swiss Army Knives and multi-tools; its range also includes kitchen knives, watches and travel gear. Its Swiss Army Knives are produced at the company's factory in Ibach.
