Leatherman

Leatherman is an American multi-tool brand based in Portland, Oregon. Tim Leatherman came up with the idea for a pliers-based pocket tool during a 1975 trip to Europe and founded the company with Steve Berliner in 1983; its first product was the PST (Pocket Survival Tool). Leatherman Tool Group is privately held.

The range covers multi-tools, folding and fixed-blade knives, and bits, sheaths and replacement parts, with tools grouped by activity, including camping, hiking and climbing, cycling and winter sports. The company states that it builds its tools at its factory in Portland.
