Brand
Smartwool
United States · Founded 1994
Smartwool was founded in 1994 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, by ski instructors Peter and Patty Duke, starting with merino wool ski socks. It has been part of VF Corporation since 2011, and VF moved the brand's base to Denver, where it shares the group's headquarters.
Its range is built around merino wool: socks for hiking, running, skiing and biking, base layers, sweaters and other midlayers, and Smartloft jackets and vests insulated with recycled merino wool. Smartwool works with the New Zealand Merino Company on the ZQRX regenerative wool platform.
