Sawyer

Sawyer is an American maker of water filters, insect repellents and first-aid products, based in Safety Harbor, Florida. The company dates from 1984, when it established the Sawyer Extractor pump kit in the US; it later added first-aid kits, sunscreens and repellents, and began working on water filtration in 2001.

For hiking and camping its range centres on water filters such as the Squeeze, MINI and Micro Squeeze, together with gravity systems, filter bottles and permethrin and picaridin insect repellents. Its filters use hollow fibre membranes; the first 0.1 micron filters and 0.02 micron purifiers were introduced in 2005.
