Katadyn

Katadyn is a Swiss water treatment brand, founded in 1928 by Alexander Krause to produce silver-based tablets for treating and preserving drinking water. It is the founding brand of the Katadyn Group, headquartered in Kemptthal near Zurich, which also owns Optimus, Micropur, Steripen and Trek'n Eat.

For hiking and camping, its range covers portable water filters and purifiers, from pump filters such as the Pocket and the Explorer to squeeze filters and bottles in the BeFree line, alongside marine desalinators and household water filters. The group runs its own production company in Prejmer, Romania.
