Brand
Hoka
United States · Founded 2009
Hoka was founded in 2009 in Annecy, in the French Alps, by Nicolas Mermoud and Jean-Luc Diard, two former Salomon employees. Deckers Brands, the footwear group behind UGG and Teva, bought the company in 2013, and Hoka is headquartered in Goleta, California.
For the outdoors it makes trail running shoes, hiking boots and lower-cut hiking shoes, several with GORE-TEX membranes, as well as running jackets. Road running, walking and fitness shoes and other running clothing complete the line. The first Hoka model, the Mafate, was designed with downhill running in mind.
